YOUTH PROGRAM RECEIVES TROPHIES AND JERSEYS COURTESY OF ASBURY PARTNERS
Allah Youth Center Summer Basketball League gets third year off to a great start
Asbury Park, N.J. – Summertime is known for warm
weather, barbeques and trips to the beach, but it is also a time
when youth basketball leagues practice hard to train and prepare
for the next season of games. To encourage youth enrolled in the
Allah Youth Center’s
summer basketball camp, Asbury Partners has donated funds to purchase new trophies
and jerseys.
For the second year in a row, Asbury Partners teamed up with the Asbury Park Recreation Department and the Allah Youth Center to contribute over $2,000 to purchase new trophies and jerseys for youth involved in the summer program. This is the third season of operation for the Allah Youth Center and the program has expanding. An older age group will be recruited to participate in training this summer.
“This program is beneficial to youth of all ages for Asbury Park and surrounding towns,” said Kevin Sanders, Mayor of Asbury Park. “This
program has volunteers from our diverse city that donate their own precious
time to support our youth and provide bonding for families to once again grow
together as a community.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to play a role in the program for a second year,” said Larry Fishman, COO of Asbury Partners. “Our
goal as developers is not only to develop properties and real estate, but also
to help enrich local community programs.”
There are currently 180 children enrolled for this year. The program will run over the summer and end in late July. To wrap up the season, all the youth are invited to attend a banquet with special invited guests such as the mayor and members of the city council.
“With the help of the City and Asbury Partners, we were able to pull the program together for a third year,” said Allah Youth Center co-organizer and founder, Mark Clark. “The kids are excited and happy, and that’s
what this is really all about.”
In addition to new jerseys and trophies, the courts where the program operates
also received a makeover form the city. The basketball court was newly painted,
new rims were put up and portable bathrooms were installed.
