MONMOUTH COUNTY
Monmouth County's central location in the Northeast
exemplifies that old real estate saying: location, location, location.
Less than an hour from New York City and about an hour and a half
from Philadelphia, Monmouth County is serviced by every major form
of transportation, from road to airlines to rail to truck to ferry.
Monmouth
County features 27 miles of pristine beaches, many historic sites,
fun at two of the nation's best racetracks, and deep sea and fresh
water fishing. Tourism spending was $1.6 Billion for Monmouth County
in 2002.
Above average growth rate, Monmouth County also has
above average incomes. Median household income is estimated to
be $67,064, about 10 percent higher than the State's median household
income. The County - as well has a slightly higher proportion of
households with incomes over $100,000.
Monmouth County was selected
out of 300 national communities as the "Third Best Place to
Live" by Money Magazine.
The county's focus on economic health has also earned it a Triple
A rating from Moody's & Fitch and Standard and Poor's.
ASBURY PARK
Asbury Park has begun its historic Waterfront Redevelopment
Plan which will contains residential, retail and entertainment
facilities. The plan calls for 3,000 new housing units and 450,000
square feet of retail space. The downtown redevelopment plan calls
for first floor retail and second floor and above for residential
uses. There are many quality shops and restaurants already in business
in the downtown area.
The renowned beach community of Asbury Park
is surrounded by wealthy towns in a county that is registering
above-average population growth and a high percentage of families
with children. During the summer months, thousands of tourists
continue to flock to the shores most spectacular beachfront. Entertainment
and Arts is the core and long tradition at the jewel of the shore.
SHORE TOWNS AT A GLANCE
Shore communities include Allenhurst, Asbury
Park, Avon, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Deal, Loch Arbour, Long Branch,
Manasquan, Monmouth Beach, Neptune Township, Sea Bright, Sea Girt
and Spring Lake Borough. Eight of the fourteen have annual median
household incomes in excess of $65,000; most register incomes of
more than $75,000, running as high as $92,000.
